Dowtcha Parades are spectacular and inclusive.
Whether it’s Paddy´s day in the city or a bonfire night carnival in your local neighbourhood, we aim to make bold, entertaining and memorable images. We make great giant puppets, floats, noise and, in the spirit of carnival, include lots of people making, designing, performing and drumming.
We’ll bring the fun to your event! Giant tractors, outdoor spectacles and walk about characters are all available to spice up your event. Or if you want a complete immersive experience, commission us and we’ll help you use our gear to get out there. or our experienced designers and makers can help you make your own. We have completed St Patrick’s Day Parade commissions for Cork and/or Dublin every year since 2003. Parade workshops are a Dowtcha carnival tradition. They involve setting up a temporary community access workshop so that people can make their own costumes, build floats, rehearse music and develop performance. It’s a fantastic, all-inclusive way of working that turns a one-day event into an empowering, community development project.
